New Winner of the " Sammy Glass Memorial Trophy " The Sammy Glass Trophy is winging its way to the other side of the world .....in fact its going " down Under " ?????? The highest placed newcomer in the UGPSC Superbike Race was none other than Australian born Cameron Donald. Cameron finished in sixth position in what was a thrilling final race of the super week long event. Speaking after the presentation Cameron said he was delighted to have one the fantastic trophy and he looked forward to returning to Dundrod in 2006. Lifting the Sammy Glass Memorial Trophy was the icing on the cake for this up and coming Aussie star, Cameron completed a fantastic days racing by also collecting the " Iceman" award from clerk of the course Noel Johnston. Many a seasoned racer would have been more than satisfied with the results Cameron achieved on what was a changeable day at Dundrod. Not a bad days work ..... 6th in the Team Wood Supersport 600 race one ..... 3rd in the S.B.E. Supersport 600 race two ..... Fastest lap of 117.16 in the S.B.E. Supersport 600 race two and 6th in the UGPSC Superbike race. This likeable young man is surely one to watch out for in the future. Congratulations Cameron Donald. We all look forward to your return.
UGPSC Host Final Press Conference. The Ramada Hotel, Monday 1st August was the venue for the final press conference before the long awaited 2005 Ulster Grand Prix Bike Week. The Supporters Club Chairman Des Stewart welcomed special guests John Mc Guinness, Jonathan Craig, Mayor of Lisburn City and Mervyn Elder, Chairman of the Northern Ireland Events Company to this the final and perhaps the most important press conference before the event. Speaking to the large audience the Chairman outlined the Clubs involvement with the event for the last forty two years and went on to announce that the Supporters Club would be donating £ 25000 towards the running of the 2005 Ulster Grand Prix Bike Week. The Chairman also announced that the Club would once again be associated with the final Race of the event listed in the programm as the UGPSC Superbike Rac
UGP 2005 Bike Week Press Release Charles Hurst Motorcycle Centre played host to the first UGP 2005 Bike Week press conference on Monday night 21 st March. General manager Alfie Mayers welcomed everyone to the event and said he was delighted to see such a good turn out for this the first UGP 2005 Bike Week press launch. Stephen Watson from BBC Northern Ireland compared the evening and announced that the local channel had signed a deal for continued coverage of the event over the next four years. The Dundrod Club Secretary, Leslie Moore announced a prize fund of £ 42,000 for this years event and stated that this was the largest prize fund ever offered in the 83 year history of the event. Leslie Moore said "During the past three years we have carried out much needed safety improvements around the circuit but this year thanks to co-operation from Lisburn City Council we are concentrating on improving facilities at the paddock for both the riders and spectators. Tarmacing and increasing the electricity supply has already started in the paddock and over the next couple of months work is due to start on the riders toilet and shower building. Leslie Moore also paid tribute to the hard working UGP Supporters Club who have had a tremendous response to their 2005 campaign at the recent Dublin and Belfast Motorcycle Shows. Janice McAleese, Chief Executive of the Northern Ireland Events Company said "We have been delighted to take part in the long-term development of the Ulster Grand Prix. The event provides a major boost to both tourism and the local economy each year and through expansion this can be a further developed." Councillor Billy Bell, Chairman of the Ulster Grand Prix Working Group was please that the efforts of the Group since it was set up last spring were addressing improvements identified for the event. He indicated that, following a de-brief by the Working Group after the 2004 event, an action plan had been drawn up for the 2005 event. Lisburn City Council has already undertaken works at The Pits on laying bitmac to create spine roads at The Pits and the Working Group was looking at how best to manage The Pits in the long-term. Stephen Watson interviewed Ryan Farquhar, John McGuinness, Adrian Archibald and Ian Lougher. Each of the riders said they were looking forward to the 2005 Bike Week and once again competing on the fastest Road Racing Circuit in the WORLD. Only Five Months To Wait.

2005 Draw Winners Ulster Grand Prix Winner and Road Racing Superstar Darran Lindsay picked out the five lucky winners of the UGPSC annual Club Draw on Wednesday evening 9 th March 2005. Speaking before the event Darran said that he was delighted to have been asked to make the draw and wished everyone who bought a ticket the best of luck. Darran congratulated the membership for their sterling support over the years and wished the Club every success for 2005. Club President, Andy Pinkerton thanked Darran for his support and wished him and his racing teams a successful season. Vice Chairman, Tom Best offered both Darran and wife Kerry the Clubs congratulations for their forth coming addition to the Lindsay family due in April this year. Tom Best thanked the Club membership for their continued support of the annual draw. Well done everyone !!!!
The Irish Motorbike & Scooter Show 4 th - 6 th March 2005 RDS Complex Dublin The Club trailer had its first 2005 outing to the Irish Motorbike and Scooter Show at the RDS Complex in Dublin City. Four committee members set off at 7.00am Friday morning on the adventure, the craic was good and all looked forward to arriving at the show and getting set up. The show opened at 3.00pm and went on to 9.00pm the visiting crowds made us all very welcome. Saturday and Sunday saw us welcoming large crowds onto the the Club trailer and we managed to signup lots of new members. The visit to the RDS proofed to be very worthwhile and the Club managed to make lots of new friends for the "Ulster" and also the UGPSC. Sunday 11.30pm saw the four committee members returned home, all very tired but happy to have been on this first Dublin experience. One thing that they all agreed on was that they could not wait to return next year to Dublin's Fair City. Check out the photo's

2004 UGP Bike Week aides NI Economy This year’s Ulster
Grand Prix netted the Northern Ireland economy £1.9 million, despite the
atrocious weather conditions. Spectators were asked
to comment on different aspects of the event and satisfaction levels were
extremely high at 91 per cent with 97 per cent of those interviewed satisfied
with the standard of competitors. The Race organisers ,as well as Lisburn City Council are delighted with the findings of this first independent report. The Report concludes that this event should have long term pay off for tourism as 97 % of the visitors from outside the Province said that they would return.
The
Dundrod Motorcycle Club announce details of the 2005 Ulster
Grand Prix Bike Week. Following a difficult running
of the inaugural Bike Week this year, which was largely due to inclement weather
conditions, the club are still positive that the format is successful, and it
returns for 2005. Some improvements, and alterations are made, as the club
strive to improve the event for all concerned. Ulster Grand Prix Bike Week
2005 will run from Monday the 8th of August to Saturday the 13th of August,
with Dundrod 150 National Road Races taking place on Thursday the 11th and the
International Ulster Grand Prix on Saturday the 13th. The main changes for 2005
will see the 125cc/400cc event moved from the International Ulster Grand Prix to
the Dundrod 150 Races, whilst the 250cc GP Race will feature as the third race
in the Ulster Grand Prix Programme. There will be no Classic or
Forgotten Era Races at either the Dundrod 150 Road Races or the Ulster Grand
Prix, whilst the 600cc Production Race is also axed from the Ulster Grand Prix
schedule. An Open B Race will be added to the schedule for Thursdays racing,
whilst a second Supersport 600cc Race will be held at the Ulster Grand Prix
Races. The Production 1000cc event now becomes the Superstock Race. The organiser’s feel that
this revised programme is appealing to Newcomers who will get at least two races
on Thursday at the Dundrod 150 event before the Ulster Grand Prix on Saturday. It has also been confirmed
that Noel Johnston will again be acting as Clerk of the Course, Peter O'Neill
will again be treasurer and Leslie Moore will be Race Co-Ordinator.

The Irish Motorbike & Scooter Show 4 th - 6 th March 2005 RDS Complex Dublin For the first time ever the Supporters Club will be attending the super Irish Motorbike & Scooter Show. World Superbike Champion James Toseland will open the Show on Friday 4 th at 4.00pm and will be available for interviews and autographs all day Saturday on the Ducati Stand. The Show organisers promise an even bigger and better show than last year, it should be good as over 40,000 attended the event in 2004. The event is not just an exhibition, there will also be lots of stunts and other floorshows providing great entertainment for adults and kids alike. The Forty Second Annual General Meeting The Club held its 2004 annual general meeting in the Lisburn Island Centre on Wednesday 9 th February at 8.00pm. The gathered membership heard the annual reports from the Club Secretary and the Club Treasurer and everyone was in agreement that 2004 was indeed a very good year as far as the Club was concerned. The Club Chairman reported on how the Club had invested time and money to create a more approachable and professional image to the general public. He hoped that with the launch of the New Club Trailer members and spectators alike would see that the Supporters Club was still going strong and still supporting the Greatest Road Race of them all forty two years on. The Chairman paid tribute to the Dundrod Club for their organisation of the new format UGP Bike week, he congratulated everyone concerned with the event for their hard work and professional approach in what must have been very trying circumstances. The tragic loss of up and coming race star Andy Wallace reminded everyone of the dangers associated with the sport. Thanks to the courage of the competitors history will also remember the fastest ever lap around Dundrod by Bruce Anstey and also the historic race win by the female competitor Anita Buxton. The Chairman advised that there were a number of plans in the pipeline that he felt would further benefit the 2005 "Ulster" and urged everyone to get behind the Club and help support the event. The Club Chairman stated that he was optimistic that 2005 would also be a good year for the Club, he stated that the committee was fully behind the strategic plan for the further development of the Ulster Grand Prix Supporters Club and thanked everyone on the committee for their support and hard work throughout 2004. 2005 Office Bearers: President: A.
